Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade is the first of two expansion packs for the strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic III. After the death of the Kreegans' king, Xenofex, a usurper called Lucifer Kreegan takes over Eeofol and begins to look for a means to revive an ancient weapon known as Armageddon's Blade, capable of setting the world on fire. In the Armageddon's Blade campaign, the player takes command of Queen Catherine Ironfist. Some of the new characters introduced are Gelu, a half-elven archer, and Xeron, leader of the Kreegan armies. The five standalone campaigns present a lot of new characters. The most relevant difference in Armageddon's Blade is the addition of the Conflux, which increases the total number of alignments in Heroes III to nine. The town's environment is set with classical elements, and includes other creatures. Six new campaigns were included, and over 35 single scenarios were also added. This expansion brings a random map generator that lets players create random maps with customizable parameters. with the game allows for the composition of new campaigns from individual scenario maps. |
